Couture Week!

Couture week is probably my favorite because I admire the hard work that goes into every single piece and appreciate the dying art the is couture. Back in the day basically every item was couture, hand made and personal but not with fast fashion chains and department stores clothes are becoming factory produced and the market for couture is dwindling. I hope maybe one day it can be revitalized! This week though was not as amazing as it usually is but there were still collections I loved!

1. Versace
Versace was probably my favorite this season. This collection was dirty glam rock at its finest, extremely sexy and dark. I loved how some of the dresses looked like they were falling off the models and revealing their undergarments. This was high shine but effortless and each model looked glossy and badass. I particularly loved Lindsey Wixson in that blue jumpsuit.

2. Giambattista Valli
This collection was inspired by porcelain and evoked the delicate nature of different countries china. This collection was beautiful and the colors used were perfectly in tune with the designers inspiration. My favorite look in particular was look 35. I loved the soft and intricate details aligned with the youthful silhouettes.

3. Armani Prive
This collection was very soft, elegant and heavily influenced by the 30s and 40s. The color palette was mostly nude and it really added to the elegance and the softness of the pieces. Each of the pieces were subtly reveling and sexy without stuffing it down your throat. I can see many of the dresses walking on the red carpet. Another success for Mr. Armani!

4.Maison Martin Margiela
Margiela is always unique but there was something very wearable about this collection. Perhaps because many of the clothes were re purposed into these looks and given new life. The collection did not have a strong theme really which every piece being pretty individual from one another. The strongest vibe came from the 60s inspired mini coats and dresses and clog like shoes. The masks were also brought back and were individually crafted for each look. I personally want to wear the latex white shirt and blues "jeans" right now.

This collection was ultra sexy, cool and dare I say comfortable. The woman who wears this is going to come off as someone who is effortlessly sexy and chic. This collection gives me heavy Kanye West vibes and makes me think this is probably what he was going for when he debuted.
